We reported several days ago that the police department of Michigan ordered a batch of all-electric Ford Mustang Mach-E SUVs and received one for applicability testing. As expected, the car met or surpassed expectations on all counts.
The tests conducted included rapid acceleration, braking, handling and safety during hazardous maneuvers, and performance for chasing. The electric crossover fared well in every respect, and the company promises to post detailed scores soon.
Ford has no intention to advertise its Mustang Mach-E to police departments in particular – the market demand is high as it is – but it might decide to launch a dedicated Mach-E police car line if it receives enough requests.
