Ford has posted a video teasing a new version of the Mustang Mach-E. It looks like a special edition of the SUV is set to debut at Goodwood tomorrow, but it is anyone’s guess whether it will be mass-produced or a one-off.
The video follows two Mach-E as they are driven on a highway towards the Goodwood Festival of Speed when a third Mach-E suddenly overtakes them. Its exterior is carefully concealed – either blurred or shown selectively. Even so, there is no missing the trademark Mustang racing livery.
At a certain point, the Mach-E veers off the asphalt and slides along a dirt road in a spectacular drift. This makes us suspect that the new version of the SUV will be rally-focused with appropriate modifications made to its suspension, clearance and AWD system.
Another theory is that Ford is playing around with another insanely powerful prototype, like the 2,000-horsepower Supervan or the 1,400-hp Mustang Mach-E drift machine. We will learn more tomorrow, though, so stay tuned.
