Ford Mustang Mach-E Rally debuts in the USA

Ford has unveiled a rally-focused version of its Mustang Mach-E crossover. Inspired by Blue Oval’s rally cars, it has more than just cool looks going for it and is scheduled for production in early 2024. The minimum price is $65,000.

The Mach-E Rally rides on 19-inch wheels finished in white and wrapped in wide-than-standard tires. It also wears a Focus RS-style spoiler, a contrast roof, pinstripes, and anti-fog lights integrated into its radiator grille.

The suspension takes advantage of MagneRide shocks and tweaked springs that add 20 mm (0.8”) to the ride height, and Ford says the handling has changed, too. The on-board electronics offers a new mode called RallySport for fast-paced driving on dirt roads. It allows for more uncorrected wheel skidding than usual and fine-tunes throttle response.

Only one powertrain has been announced so far. It comprises two engines and delivers 480 PS (473 hp / 353 kW) and 880 Nm (650 lb-ft) of torque to the wheels. The SUV reaches 96.6 km/h (60 miles per hour) in 3.5 seconds and gets up to 400 km (248 miles) of range out of its 91-kWh battery pack.
