Ford Performance has invited F1 Red Bull Racing drivers Max Verstappen and Sergio Pérez for a test drive of its rally-themed Mustang Mach-E crossover. The resulting video was entitled “Max & Checo’s Day Off in the Desert”.
The story follows the racers as they make a trip to the desert, eager to have some rest in the middle of nowhere, with only each other and their EVs for company.
They arrive, park their SUVs and plop down onto some folding seats, clearly looking uncomfortable with this kind of leisure. Soon they realize that what they really needed was to have some stunt driving fun in the desert sands. They drift, drag race each other and engage in other rally-themed activities that arguably beat sitting under a parasol in scorching heat all day.
Both vehicles featured in the video have been upgraded to Rally spec.
