Ken Miles’ “Flying Mustang” fetches fabulous $3.85M

The legendary 1965 Mustang Shelby GT350R that once belonged to famous racing driver Ken Miles has just been sold at an auction for an unprecedented sum of U.S. $3,850,000.

Powered by a V8 rated at 300 hp (225 kW) and 446 Nm (330 lb-ft) of torque, this specific Shelby GT350R was the first vehicle of its kind to participate in professional motorsports. It has a four-speed manual transmission in its stock form.

The Flying Mustang received its famous nickname from a photo that managed to capture it in mid-air after an aerial trick – at a certain moment, none of the racer’s four wheels touched the ground.
