Hennessey unveils tuned Shelby GT500 specs, amazes as usual

Hennessey Performance has released a statement saying it succeeded in making the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 1.5 times as strong as the factory version, bringing it on par with the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport in terms of raw acceleration performance. Wait, what!?

Well, essentially, the company has devised a high-end performance upgrade for the muscle car, which packs 770 hp (574 kW) and 847 Nm (625 pound-feet) of torque straight from the factory.

The first kit, called Venom 850, pushes the 5.2-liter V8 to 850 hp (634 kW) and 983 Nm (725 lb-ft) of torque. The second one, dubbed the Venom 1000, persuades it to deliver 1,000 hp (745 kW) along with 1,152 Nm (850 lb-ft).

Finally, the range-topping kit promises a ridiculous 1,200 hp (895 kW) along with 1,356 Nm (1,000 lb-ft) of torque. This is made possible thanks to a better supercharger, stronger pistons and rods, revised injection, a new intercooler, and a custom exhaust system. Hennessey also makes several modifications in the way the robotic transmission works, reportedly necessary to keep it stable under the extreme load.

On the outside, Hennessey logos and badges are the only thing that betrays the true nature of the 1,200-hp Ford Mustang Shelby GT500.
