A few days ago, we reported that the 2020 Shelby Mustang GT500 proved capable of 800+ hp (600+ kW) and around 900 Nm (670 lb-ft) of torque after a simple air filter swap and RPM count increase. Just as we suspected back then, the new GT500 can go far beyond that.
YouTube user REVan Evan has posted a video where a similarly tuned Shelby ride with a couple additional upgrades produces stellar 1,070 hp (800 kW) at the crank, which translates into roughly 945 hp (705 kW) at the wheels. Apparently, this is enough to burn through a quarter-mile drag strip in barely over nine seconds. Wow!
REVan Evan does not go into much detail about the nuances of the build, but the video is worth watching in any case.
