Shelby has unveiled an option package named Carroll Shelby SE for all GT500 owners, which notably includes a performance boost to 800 horsepower.
The kit is available for all current-year GT500 models and all GT350 produced between 2015 and 2020. Only 100 units from each year will be retrofitted, gaining a unique chassis ID in the process.
The Shelby GT500SE features special exterior details including badges, a carbon fiber hood with air intakes, readjusted suspension, a better intercooler, anti-sway bars, new demi-axles, and so on. Wheels measure 20 inches in diameter on both axles.
The upgrade still mainly focuses on the engine boost. Once applied, the 5.2-liter V8 starts producing north of 800 horsepower (600+ kilowatts) instead of the regular 770 hp (574 kW).
Shelby GT350 owners get most of the deal, but not the power kit.
