Ford Performance has launched a range of carbon fiber options for the top-of-the-line Mustang Shelby GT500, dropping its weight by around 4 kilograms (9 pounds).
Included are a $1,850 front splitter that weighs 1.8 kg / 4lbs, a $1,150 front bumper insert as light as 450 g / 1lb, a $1,185 air intake that comes in at 1.8 kg / 4 lbs, and a $575 trunk lid panel that doesn’t exceed 1 kg / 2.2 lbs.
The vendor suggests combining all of the above with the Carbon Fiber Track Package, which comprises 20-inch carbon wheels, Michelin tires, an adjustable rear wing, a carbon dash panel, and Recaro bucket seats (rear seat removal recommended).
In related news, the Shelby GT500 is now available in three new finish options including blue, grey and yellow.
