Shelby GT500KR makes a comeback with 912 PS, carbon everywhere

A few weeks after announcing a mysterious new Mustang, Shelby American has finally let it hit the spotlight. Welcome back the iconic Shelby GT500KR!

The muscle car uses a 5.2-liter V8 with enough forced induction to slam the crank with 912 PS (900 hp / 671 kW). Aside from the extra power, it features MagneRide coilovers, special 20-inch wheels and a carbon-fiber body kit. The latter consists of a new hood, a front splitter, a rear diffuser, and Gurney flaps.

Found inside are Shelby leather seats, branded floor mats, and commemorative badges celebrating 60 years of Shelby (restricted availability). The company plans to make 225 units by 2022, including 180 for the United States. Buying such a car new will set you back $127,895, while upgrading an existing GT500 to the KR spec comes in at $54,995.
