YouTuber Edmunds has posted a video from a U-drag race between a Dodge Challenger Black Ghost and a Mustang Shelby GT500. The two muscle cars raced for a quarter of a mile before turning around and racing back.
Performance-wise, the special Challenger packs a 6.2-liter V8 that gives it 818 PS (807 hp / 602 kW) of thrust. An eight-speed automatic transmission carries the torque to the rear axle. The car weighs 2,030 kilos, or 4,475 pounds.
In turn, the Mustang Shelby GT500 relies on a 5.2-liter V8 to hit the rear wheels with 760 PS (750 hp / 559 kW). It has less torque than its opponent, but weighs less at 1,890 kilos (4,166 pounds).
Looking at the figures alone, you might think the Dodge is the one to bet on, but let’s never forget that the drivers have a U-turn to make in the middle of the race. Watch the video!
