A highly exclusive 1967 Ford Mustang restomod wearing carbon-fiber bodywork from top to bottom is up for grabs on Bring-a-Trailer right now. It packs a Ford Racing engine and commands a top bid of U.S. $250,000, with a day left on the clock.
It took Classic Restorations two years to bring the retro muscle car in line with the modern times. While at it, the tuner commissioned an all-carbon body from SpeedKore Performance and finished it in Pepper Gray, taking care to leave two broad stripes with the weave exposed.
The so-called Mustang GT500CR 545 rides on bespoke 18-inch wheels sized 8 inches wide at the front and 11 inches at the back. It benefits from modern coilovers and stabilizers in the suspension and makes use of Wilwood performance brakes with slotted/perforated discs.
Interior highlights include SCAT Rally Series 1000 seats with five-point safety harnesses, an AC, and a Bluetooth-enabled Alpine radio linked to a Focal audio system.
Power for the expertly built car comes from a 7.0-liter (427ci) Ford Racing V8. Classic Restorations doesn’t mention any output figures, but improved cooling, injection and cylinder heads should ensure smooth running for the already-capable power unit. The transmission is five-speed manual, and the drive is on the rear axle. With just 1,083 km (673 miles) on the odometer post-restoration, the ‘Stang should be in perfect driving condition.
