Ford Puma ST comes out with revised powertrain and equipment

First spy pics of the camo-free Ford Puma ST were made way back in February, followed by a series of official teasers, and now the car is finally ready for showing to the public.

The Puma ST is technically related to the Fiesta ST hatchback, sharing the same 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder with 200 hp (150 kW) at the output end. However, at 320 Nm (236 lb-ft) versus 290 Nm (214 lb-ft), the Puma exerts more torque. Its top speed is electronically capped at 220 km/h (136 mph), while the Fiesta is marginally faster with its 237 km/h (147 mph). Both sprint 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 6.7 seconds.
Options include a Quaife limited-slip differential and launch control. The transmission is always six-speed manual, and the drive stays on the front axle.

Compared to its non-ST counterpart, the beefed-up crossover SUV boasts 19-inch wheels, Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires, a body kit, a Furious Green Metallic paint, Recaro seats, stiff suspension, 25% better steering response, and 17% larger brake discs. The drive modes Normal, Sport, and Track all come from the hatchback, but the Eco mode is new. when the Track mode is engaged, the anti-skid system turns off and the ESP actuates later than usual.

The equipment list mentions a 12.3-inch digital dashboard, a Sync 3 multimedia system with an 8-inch display and Android Auto / Apple CarPlay connectivity, a B&O audio system, wireless gadget charging, adaptive cruise control, self-parking and other assists.
