A while ago, we reported that Ford Europe was conducting a survey among 275,000 social network users, asking them to pick their favorite name and design for the Ford Puma ST. Here’s what goes into production.
The crossover SUV will be officially known as the Puma ST Gold Edition. It sports a black body with stripes available in golden and grey silver hues, as well as light bronze wheels. The large ‘Ford’ caption is gone from the tailgate and now resides on the side sills where ‘Ford Performance’ used to be. Brake calipers are red just like in the standard trim specification, although black was an option in the poll as well.
Like the standard Puma, the special edition has Recaro seats inside and a number of fake-carbon embellishments. The seats sport stripes of a pale bronze-gold tint, while safety belts come adorned with grey stitching.
The tech stays stock. A 1.5-liter turbo three-pot produces 200 PS (197 hp / 147 kW) and 320 Nm (236 lb-ft) of torque, sending it to the wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox. The standard sprint lasts 6.7 seconds, and WLTP-rated average fuel consumption amounts to 6.8 liters of gas per 100 km. Four drive modes are available by default, and you could opt for a limited-slip front differential.
