U.S.-based car tuning shop Hennessey Performance has put the 2019 Ford Raptor pickup truck to a series of dyno tests in an attempt to measure its exact output. First cars have only recently begun rolling to their respective buyers, so it actually makes sense to try and measure just how good they are performance-wise.
Long story short, the tests showed 353 hp (263 kW) and 540 Nm (397 lbft) of actual performance at the rear axle. Compare this to the manufacturer-promised 450 hp (336 kW) and 690 Nm (510 lbft) at the driveshaft, and you end up with figures that are entirely within the normal range.
We here suspect that Hennessey Performance had another goal in mind as well, though. The company sells an upgrade kit called the VelociRaptor 600 Twin Turbo, which can be used to push the performance of the 2019 Raptor a bit further. The package includes a better intercooler design, new intake and exhaust, an ECU remap and a few other things. Once installed, it enables the car to accelerate 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in mere 4.2s, as opposed to the stock 6.0s, and cover a quarter-mile in 12.9s.
