These photos, depicting what looks like an unidentifiable pickup truck model, have been trending in the automotive community lately. Our colleagues from Australia say this just might be the next-generation Ford Ranger, but no official statement exists to support or disprove this claim.
Some media point out a strong similarity the truck seems to bear with the Ford F-Series, including the telltale C-shaped headlights, rear bumper, radiator grille, and taillights.
The truck has all of its windows completely tinted, which may be viewed as a hint that it is just a full-size mock-up used solely for chassis testing purposes – and not a pre-preproduction copy.
The latest Ford Ranger debuted at the 2018 Detroit Motor Show featuring a spaceframe and a 2.3-liter gasoline engine paired with a 10-speed automatic box.
The last addition to the F-Series arrived in the form of high-spec Super Duty trims that pack robust V8 engines with 6.2 to 7.3 liters of displacement room.
