The newest pickup truck in the Ford Ranger family only debuted a couple of weeks ago, but the tuner team over at Hennessey Performance has already boosted its engine, designed a new body kit and made some suspension tweaks. After these modifications, the mid-size truck assumed the appearance of its “big brother”, the Ford F-150 VelociRaptor. This is also exactly what Hennessey wanted.
A new Ford Ranger VelociRaptor 2019 by Hennessey would set you back U.S. $65,000, including the donor car. If you just want the tuning kit (such as when you want to install it yourself), that would be $20,000. The company says it will only release 500 kits.
The upgrade takes the 2.3-liter EcoBoost turbo V4 mill from its stock 270 hp (201 kW) and 420 Nm (310 lbft) of torque all the way to 355 hp (265 kW) and 522 Nm (385 lbft). This is made possible thanks to a new cat-back, stainless-steel exhaust system, an ECU remap and some air intake improvements. As a result, the truck sprints 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in just 6.1 seconds, which represents a marked improvement over the factory-guaranteed 7.4s.
You may also opt for the Offroad Kit Stage 1, which comes with a 100-mm (4-inch) suspension lift and a set of 17-inch Hennessey wheels wrapped in BF Goodrich All-Terrain rubber. The wheel and tire combo contributes another 50 mm (2 inches) to the ride height.
Aside from the above, the 2019 Ford Ranger also gets VelociRaptor-styled bumpers, a winch (optional), a massive roof-mounted light bar and a number of Hennessey Performance logos and badges for the radiator grille, the engine bay and the interior.
