Ford’s sports subdivision has launched a range of options for the latest Ranger pickup, including an engine tune, new shocks, springs, and exhaust.
The 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine gains additional 45 hp (34 kW) and 82 Nm (61 lb-ft) of torque with this update, thus rising to 319 hp (238 kW) and 502 Nm (370 lb-ft). A new K&N air filter and a fresh firmware update is all that’s required, however, the car becomes more choosy when it comes to gasoline. If the stock Ranger makes do with octane number 92 petrol just fine, the tuned version won’t accept anything below ON 98 Premium.
Further upgrades include Fox sport shock absorbers, suspension springs, and a custom exhaust system available with black and chrome-coated tips.
The engine upgrade alone costs U.S. $825, the exhaust unit $1,095, and the suspension kit will set you back $1,495. Buying everything at once will be $3,415, a sizeable premium over the MSRP of $24,410.
The tuning comes with three years or 36,000 miles (58,000 km) of warranty.
