In just three weeks, Ford will unveil the next-generation Ranger pickup that it will offer in 180 countries. A teaser image and a mini-movie accompany the announcement.
Ford claims it has conducted 5,000 interviews with the target audience members to better understand their expectations from Ford trucks. Seminars with Ranger owners were also held to determine how specifically they used their cars.
In the meantime, assorted Ranger prototypes have made 10,000 kilometers (6,200 miles) around the desert, which the company claims corresponds to over 600,000 kilometers (373,000 miles) of off-roading or 1,250,000 km (777,000 miles) of normal use.
As for the powertrains, we are promised multiple diesel versions, an EcoBoost V6, and a plug-in hybrid. A powerful Raptor spec and a wilderness-capable Everest are also on the list.
