Cross your fingers and hold your breath: Cars Guide Australia has caught wind of an eight-cylinder Ranger Raptor R pickup coming to that country’s market soon.
According to Trevor Worthington, Ford Brand VP, the Bronco DR has many elements considered basic equipment in the road-legal SUV, and much could be gained from the fact that the new Bronco and Raptor models share the same technological platform. He did not elaborate on it, but everything points towards a special Ranger edition coming to the showroom floors.
Mark Rushbrook, from Ford Performance Motorsports, supported this claim by confirming that the company planned to transfer much of the Bronco DR tech into the Ranger.
The Bronco DR is a racing variant of the SUV for off-road racing enthusiasts. It comes powered by a five-liter V8 rated at 400 PS (394 hp / 294 kW). Only 50 units will be made so far priced from $200,000, with pre-orders set to open in late 2022.
