Ford announces new premiere date for the Ranger Raptor

Ford had intended to unveil the second-gen Ranger Raptor alongside the standard truck in November 2021, but missed the date and will be unveiling it on February 22.

The old Ranger Raptor came powered by a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder, twin-turbo diesel rated at 215 PS (212 hp / 158 kW) and 500 Nm (369 lb-ft) of torque. The new version is expected to get an EcoBoost V6 like the one in the Bronco Raptor, where it pumps out more than 400 PS (394 hp / 294 kW).

The new video shows the flagship truck toying around in the sand, putting the upgraded suspension to a serious trial. As a Raptor spec, it has widened wheel arches, off-road tires and an impressively sized front grille with the name ‘FORD’ spelled on it.

Elsewhere, the prototype rocks a roll cage and has bucket seats inside. Neither of these will be available when the model ships. A ten-speed automatic transmission sends the torque to all four wheels and offers paddle shifters for easy control.
