Roush Performance is known worldwide for its powerful superchargers used in trucks, SUVs and muscle cars, but the company’s latest upgrade package for the Ford Ranger leaves the engine alone and instead focuses on other aspects.
For their $13,250 USD, buyers get a thoroughly reworked suspension system optimized for overlanding, custom wheels shod in 32-inch General Grabber A/TX tires, a Roush front grille and not one, but two LED bars as the latest fashion demands. The interior gets an overhaul with premium leather, all-weather mats, a custom dashboard and tuner’s badges all around.
The only powertrain mod comes in the shape of a cat-back exhaust system capable of improving engine output by up to 6 PS (6 hp / 4.5 kW) and 10 Newton-meters (8 lb-ft) of torque at high revs. The upgrade necessitates buying a new Ranger XLT with either 301A or 302A package pre-installed. The truck itself makes 274 PS (270 hp / 202 kW) and costs $32,000, but exceeds $45,000 with all Roush options installed.
According to Carscoops, Roush actually plans on releasing a separate engine kit for the 2022 Ranger, but availability and pricing remain to be revealed.
