Ford Territory dominates Chinese market with 45,000+ sold in 2019

According to Ford’s latest press release, the Territory SUV has sold 45 thousand copies in China in the first 11 months of the year, becoming the U.S. marque’s single most popular car there.

The company also said it would be launching the Territory in a number of other regions soon, including South America.

The crossover utility vehicle debuted in 2018 based on the technical components of the China-made JMC Yusheng S330. As such, it has inherited most of its design traits from its donor, except the radiator grille, the bumpers, and the lighting all around.

The Ford Territory comes powered by a 1.5-liter gasoline engine churning out 143 hp (107 kW) to the front wheels. The transmission can be six-speed manual or automatic, but the drive stays on the front axle. A couple hybrid variants assisted by 48V engine starters are also available.

Prices begin from 109,800 Chinese Yuan (currently 15,590 USD).
