How do you like this 57-year-old Ford Thunderbird restomod?

The Thunderbird once counted among the most iconic cars North America had ever produced, with as many as ten generations coming out in 1955 – 1997. In 2002, the classical coupe made its final attempt at a comeback – but failed, obviously lacking the charm of its earlier generations. Let us instead have a good look at a tuned example.

This 1963 model year Thunderbird received its treatment from California-based tuner Starlite Rod and Kustom. The company spent four years perfecting it, and you will see why if you compare it to the stock Gen.3 model. Nearly everything aside from the framework and the 6.4-liter V8 has been replaced or overhauled in one way or another. The body received a fresh paint coat, the suspension was upgraded with a modern air-ride kit, and the cabin received a makeover using up-to-date trimming materials and details.
