46-year-old, 3k-mile Ford Thunderbird up for grabs

The owner does not explain why his 1976 Ford Thunderbird spent nearly its entire life parked in a barn, but asks $14,500 for it.

The car has slightly over 3,100 miles (5,000+ km) under its belt. It is largely stock: the engine model is not specified, but the drivetrain is OEM. The battery has been replaced prior to the sale, but that is about all. The coupe even comes with the can of wax that Ford shipped the Thunderbird with, meant to be used as body polish.

Photos from the barn corroborate the seller’s standpoint that the car is still “as new” despite being nearly half a century old. The body, the roof vinyl and the interior show about zero wear. The coupe stands on multi-spoke wheels and white-rimmed tires.

All in all, it looks like the owner just parked his car in a barn and never used it after putting a bit of mileage on it. The reasons for that are unknown, and $14,500 USD seems like too low of a price for a supposed time capsule.

The sixth generation of the Ford Thunderbird ended in 1976. The cars were available in different configurations with engines sized up to 7.5 liters of displacement.
