As you may remember, Ford and Volkswagen signed a cooperation agreement not long ago, and this Volkswagen Caddy seems to be the first fruit of said cooperation. Except it’s really a Ford Tourneo Connect in disguise.
According to the cooperation terms, the new Tourneo Connect and Transit Connect models will emerge in Europe based on the Caddy chassis (watch the video if you need a reminder on what the minivan looks like). Volkswagen factory in Poland is expected to assemble all three models mentioned above. In turn, the new Ford Transit will provide the basis for the next-gen VW Transporter; both will enter production at a Ford site in Turkey in two years’ time.
Back to the test mule, though. The images do not reveal how different the production car will be from the Caddy, but we’d expect at least the radiator grille, the front bumper and the lighting all around to be new.
