Ford’s commercial van lineup has expanded to incorporate the new Transit Trail, Transit Custom Trail, Transit Custom Active, and Tourneo Active. All four gain some nice technical improvements, aside from purely visual updates.
The Transit Trail boasts black bumpers and side panels made of plastic, custom 16-inch wheels, and badges testifying to the exclusivity of the series. AWD is optional and offers a liberal selection of modes: you can redirect up to 50% of torque to the front axle manually or let the car electronics decide.
The Transit Custom Trail improves upon this with its optional roof railings and running boards. FWD versions additionally benefit from the Quaife mLSD differential lock borrowed from the Focus RS line.
Imitation leather is used inside, and the equipment includes power side mirrors, air conditioning, automatic high beams, and heated windshield.
The Active spec introduces a special radiator grille design to the list, as well as 17-inch wheels, railings, various accessories, reshaped bumpers, and new wheel arches. The cabin also uses imitation leather along with glossy black inserts and blue front panel accents. The seats boast a custom design, and you can opt for a limited-slip differential, too.
