Winnebago rolls out its first all-electric motorhome concept

The world is gradually transitioning to fully electric transports, with SUVs, crossovers, pickups and light passenger cars spearheading the innovation. Still, it is only a matter of time until larger vehicles follow suit, as Winnebago clearly realizes.

Its first electric motorhome concept is fully functional and comes equipped with a large 86-kWh traction battery, which still translates into just 200 km (124 miles) of range due to all the weight. The same battery is used to power all the on-board equipment and household appliances. The company claims such range satisfies the demands of 54% of the RV buyers.

The base vehicle is a Ford Transit van equipped with a Lightning eMotors powertrain. Amenities on board include a 110V extendable stovetop, a fridge, a bed, a water boiler, an air conditioner, and more. All trim materials are eco-friendly: for instance, the floor lining consists of recycled rubber and cork.
