Mitsubishi’s latest vehicle for Australia is a rebadged Foxtron Bria

Taiwanese semiconductor giant Foxconn has been making electric vehicles under its Foxtron brand for a few years now, and one of these will soon reach Australia and New Zealand with some help from Mitsubishi.

The rebadged EV is a mid-size crossover originally known as the Foxtron Bria. Buyers Down Under will know it as the Mitsubishi ASX VR-e. Sized 4,315 x 1,885 x 1,535 millimeters (169.9 x 74.2 x 60.4 inches) large, it sports a contrasting black roof, a solid front end unburdened by any kind of faux grille, and modern LED lights at both ends.

There will be two powertrains to choose from. The RWD one will feature one electric motor rated at 230 PS (227 hp / 169 kW). The AWD version will reportedly deliver 400 PS (394 hp / 294 kW) to the wheels. Both will ship with a 57.7-kWh battery pack. The RWD variant will enjoy a marginally longer range of 516 kilometers (320 miles) per charge.

Sales will start in the final quarter of the year, Mitsubishi says. All prices are pending.
