Chinese automaker GAC will be designing an Aion-badged coupe capable of sprinting from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 1.9 seconds. According to CarNewsChina, GAC Group CEO Xingya Feng made the corresponding statement during a financial report.
The GAC Aion AS9 is expected to cost more than one million Yuan, or $157,000+ USD, when it reaches the showrooms. According to speculation, it might be the production version of the Enpulse Concept the company exhibited at the Auto China show two years ago (see the gallery for more photos and a video).
The rest of the parameters, like the powertrain output, remain to be disclosed later. Aion plans to market the hypercar as its flagship car and tech showcase.
The sales launch has been penciled in for late 2022 – early 2023 so far.
