GAC Time breaks cover with obvious Mercedes EQ influences

Chinese automaker GAC has shared images of the Time, a show car previewing the company’s design philosophy moving forward.

The futuristic-looking concept has a drag ratio of 0.191, making it extremely efficient on the road. With that in mind, the Mercedes-Benz Vision EQXX Concept still reigns supreme in this category with a ratio as low as 0.17.

Although technically a sedan, the vehicle looks much like a single-space MPV. It also appears inspired by the Mercedes-Benz EQE and EQS despite being in a category of its own. Note the holographic 3D hubcaps on the wheels, rotary sections in the headlights and unusual taillights.

Inside, the driver’s seat is where it usually is, but the rest of the cabin is taken up by a single corner sofa. The floor is supposed to evoke associations with a small pond, and the manufacturer claims extensive use of eco-friendly materials.

Technical details remain to be revealed. We would not be surprised to find out that the GAC Time is an electric car. The company mentions that has Level 4 self-driving tech on board with LiDARs included for more reliable obstacle detection.
