GAC previews a battery supercar due out in late 2023

The GAC Aion Hyper SSR is a drivable prototype of an all-electric supercar the company plans to start selling by the end of the next year starting from 1,280,000 Chinese Yuan (182,600 USD).

The car features a carbon-fiber body 4,538 mm (177.3 inches) long and 1,988 mm (77.7 inches) wide with butterfly-wing power doors.

The images posted thus far reveal a two-seat driver’s cockpit with a 14.6-inch display and a smaller digital dashboard visible behind the squared-off steering wheel. Hardware buttons are nowhere to be seen.

In this starter spec, the supercar will be able to go 0-60 mph (0-96.6 km/h) in 2.3 seconds. Its power and torque remain to be revealed. A four-motor Ultimate spec will churn out 1,225 PS (1,208 hp / 900 kW) and make the sprint in 1.9 seconds. It will also start higher at 1,680,000 Yuan (239,600 USD).

More information will be revealed next October, closer to the sales start.
