Chinese car manufacturer Geely has released an official teaser featuring its brand-new all-electric sedan model. Once out on the market, the car will compete with the Tesla Model 3 for customer attention.
Simultaneously with the reveal, Geely has announced a naming contest for the new vehicle. In the meantime, it goes by the provisional name of Geely GE11.
Then again, you may have already seen the car on a number of early spy photos that leaked online this fall. If those are any indication, the car will be getting an all-new body and a special design.
It is now official that the Geely GE11 will ship with a large multimedia display – just like the one in the Tesla Model 3 – and the same kind of steering wheel. However, unlike its American rival, the GE11 will take advantage of an extra instrument panel built into the wheel.
On the other hand, the Chinese wannabe Tesla killer packs a single engine rated at just under 180 hp (133 kW) and doesn’t accelerate past 150 km/h (93 mph).
The car will celebrate its official premiere in the first quarter of 2019.
