Geely’s first minivan comes with hybrid option, 3 seat layouts

Chinese car manufacturer Geely has announced its first mass-produced minivan model, the Jiaji. Buyers will be able to choose from three available seat layouts: 2+3+2, 2+2+3, and 2+2+2.

The car will ship with a wide assortment of engines, including 1.5-liter gas turbo, 1.8-liter gas turbo, mild hybrid (Geely Jiaji 1.5TD MHEV), and plug-in hybrid (Geely Jiaji 1.5TD PHEV). The MHEV version is rated at 190 hp (142 kW) and comes with a 7-speed DCT transmission. The PHEV is based on a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine and an electric motor mated to a 7-speed DCTH box for 258 hp (192 kW).

The minivan bears a rather remote familiarity to the Geely MPV Concept the company introduced two years ago. It ships with LED lighting, a sunroof, short overhangs (both front and rear), 18-inch wheels and 165 mm (6.45”) of road clearance.

The driver can take advantage of a widescreen digital dashboard and a 12.3” multimedia display. Base and optional equipment includes adaptive cruise control, parking assist, lane control, blind spot monitor, intelligent high beam mode, and speeding warning.
