Geely has launched domestic sales of the new FY-11, a range-topping coupe-shaped SUV also known as ‘Xing Yue’ in China.
The car is based on the CMA modular architecture jointly designed by Geely and Volvo. By default, it ships with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo rated at 238 hp (177 kW) and 350 Nm (258 lbft) of torque. Partnered with an eight-speed automatic transmission, it takes the car from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 6.8 seconds.
Another option is represented by a mild hybrid powertrain that incorporates a three-cylinder turbo engine rated at 177 hp (132 kW), a starter-generator, and a 48V power supply. It works in conjunction with a seven-speed DCT.
The top implementation of the Geely FY-11 is a plug-in hybrid. It comes with the same three-cylinder turbo engine as above, but also has a full-fledged electric motor. The resulting power output amounts to 258 hp (192 kW) and 415 Nm (306 lbft) of torque. The battery is rated at 15.2 kWh, which should translate into 80 km (50 miles) of all-electric range, the manufacturer claims.
Options for the new coupe/SUV include adaptive cruise control, traffic jam assist, a 360-degree camera system, traffic sign recognition, and lane control.
