Following some spy shots of Geely’s latest KX11 model, the seven-seater SUV has now made an appearance on official patent images.
The car sports a convex radiator grille, large air intakes, LED headlights with two rows of DRLs, and a black badge. Interior highlights include dual 12.3-inch displays, a digital dashboard and a quasi-floating center console.
The car will be Geely’s third Volvo CMA-based vehicle after the Xingrui/Preface sedan (see video) and the Xingyue/Tugella coupe-SUV. It is 4,770 mm (15.65 feet) long, 1,895 mm (6.22 ft.) wide and 1,689 mm (5.54 ft.) tall with 2,845 mm (9.33 ft.) between the axles. Ties come in three sizes: 235/55 R18, 235/50 R19 and 245/45 R20.
On an interesting side note, Volvo itself does not have an SUV as large as this based on the CMA platform so far. Both the XC60 and XC90 utilize a different platform called SPA. Lynk & Co also utilizes the CMA chassis for compact cars only, the models 01, 02, 03 and 05 all being valid examples.
Powering the new Geely KX11 is a two-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder engine of the Xingyue/Tugella (model JLH-4G20TDJ). It can be obtained boosted to either 218 PS (215 hp / 160 kW) or 238 PS (235 hp / 175 kW). An Aisin eight-speed A/T sends the power to the wheels, although it remains to be seen which ones.
The car is slated for official debut at the 2021 Auto Shanghai show on April 19, 2021. The production is expected to begin in the third quarter, and the first cars should ship before the year ends.
