China-based automotive corporation Geely has founded a new car marque named Radar and premiered its first mass-market vehicle, an all-electric pickup called the RD6.
The announcement said very little about the truck itself, but the company promises us a more detailed reveal in a matter of days. What we know right now is that it is a truck for urban dwellers who enjoy outdoor leisure and activities and prefer spending their weekends out in the wild. To that end, the car is large enough to fit a family and plenty of gear, be it for picnic or sports.
Although no official dimensions have been announced yet, the photos suggest a typical mid-size Asian truck like the Mitsubishi L200. Geely says customers will choose between a rear-wheel-drive version rated at 200 PS (197 hp / 147 kW) and an AWD one capable of 400 PS (394 hp / 294 kW).
The promotional images show the brand name on a fridge, a radio receiver and a surfboard. Whether it is a hint at an upcoming accessory lineup or just a random decision remains to be revealed.
Earlier photos show the truck bed of the RD6 with different kinds of power sockets to the right, meaning you will be able to power up various appliances from your car’s main battery.
