Geely’s first Milky Way-badged SUV teased ahead of premiere

A couple of weeks ago, Chinese automaker Geely announced a new sub-brand called Milky Way and previewed its first production car. It has now unveiled another one, an SUV so far known only as the L7. CarNewsChina reports citing own sources that it is a part-electric SUV slated for premiere on Thursday, February 23.

The only image available thus far reveals rounded bezels at the front end and slim L-shaped DRLs. The rest of the images in our gallery below, as well as the video, show the marque’s first car – most likely an all-electric sedan, by the look of it.

It is assumed that both vehicles will be based on a new design iteration of CMA, an architecture co-developed between Geely and Volvo. It may undergo certain modifications to better suit hybrid and battery-electric drivetrain requirements. These remain to be revealed, though.

Geely is planning a presentation of the Milky Way brand on February 23, so chances are good that we get to see its first cars there as well. The marque targets the production of premium New Energy vehicles (NEVs, in the company’s own terms) designed to slot in between Geometry and Zeekr on the premium scale.
