The factory in Ningbo, China has started producing its new all-electric crossover SUV, the Jiyue 01. Designed by Geely together with IT giant Baidu, the car is packed with modern tech.
It is built on the SEA platform and is 4,853 mm long, 1,990 mm wide and 1,611 mm tall with 3 meters between the axles and a touch more than 550 liters of trunk space.
The interior draws attention to its display ensemble (dash+infotainment), which spans 35.6 inches of diagonal size. Hardware controls are nearly non-existent.
Back when the companies unveiled this car as a Robo-01 Concept (see video), they thought to ship it with a 100-kWh lithium-ion battery pack. Recent rumors and leaks suggest that a lithium-ferro-phosphate (LiFePo4) pack was used instead. We will know for sure when the sales start.
In its most basic implementation, the SUV relies on a single rear-axle motor to propel it forward with 272 PS (268 hp / 200 kW). Opting for a dual-motor version gets you an equivalent front-axle motor for a combined 544 PS (436 hp / 400 kW).
