Geely Galaxy Starship 7 coming to China in 5 trim levels

Geely unveiled a mid-size CUV called the Starship 7 EM-I – the latest entry in its zero-emission Galaxy lineup – around a month ago. The car is now available for ordering, and there are as many as five versions to choose from.

The body is sized 4,740 x 1,905 x 1,685 mm (185.2 x 74.4 x 65.8 inches) large with 2,755 mm (107.6 inches) of wheelbase. The trunk holds 528 liters (18.65 cubic feet) of luggage and expands to a cool 2,065 liters (nearly 73 cu.ft.) with the seats folded down. On top of that, Geely highlights that there are 34 pockets and niches all around the cabin to put your things into.

The driver’s UI is powered by an OS known as Flyme Auto. The system commands a 10.2-inch digital dash display, a 14.6-inch infotainment screen in the middle and a 13.8-inch HUD. Depending on the trim level chosen, the car may have “smart” heating built into the seats, ventilation, 14-point massage, and a 16-channel Flyme Sound system. There are also wireless phone chargers on board and enough sensors for a Level 2 self-driving experience.

The Galaxy Starship 7 is Geely’s first vehicle to take advantage of the next-generation NordThor PHEV powertrain. It combines a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine rated at 111 PS (109 hp / 82 kW) and 136 Nm (100 lb-ft) of torque with a single e-motor capable of 218 PS (215 hp / 160 kW) and 262 Nm (193 lb-ft).

Customers can choose between two LiFePo4 battery sizes – 8.05 and 19.09 kWh. The former option delivers up to 55 kilometers (34 miles) of CLTC-rated range, while the latter is good for 120 km (75 miles). Max out the fuel tank, and you will be able to cover 1,420 km (882 miles) in one go, spending only 3.75 liters of gas per 100 kilometers. That’s almost 63 miles per U.S. gallon.
