The Chinese car maker Geely has unveiled Icon, an all-new SUV built together with Volvo based on the Compact Modular Architecture platform of the latter. The presentation event took place at the ongoing car show in Beijing, China.
The exterior of the all-new Geely Icon was created by a famous Shanghai-based car design studio led by Guy Burgoyne. A number of design decisions appear clearly aimed at younger audiences.
Commenting on the Geely Icon, a spokesman for the company said that “both surfaces and graphics have been distilled down to their minimalist form that is much in-line with present day gadgets”.
The interior of the vehicle is intended for four passengers and is dominated by grey upholstery. There are some additional displays as well as handy storage niches for small items.
Technical specifications of the upcoming Geely Icon remain a mystery at the moment, as does the release date.
