Chinese car manufacturer Geely Automotive has released new official photos of its upcoming SX11 crossover/SUV. The car is the first to benefit from a brand-new architecture, which will later be used to build other Geely vehicles.
The company introduced the new BMA architecture a few days ago, simultaneously with publishing a few photos of the camouflage-clad SX11.
The body of the Geely SX11 was designed by Peter Horberry, an ex-employee of Volvo.
The new crossover gets an improved version of the 1.5L turbocharged gasoline engine the Volvo XC40 comes with. Once upgraded, its performance raises from the 156 hp (116 kW) of the XC40 to 177 hp (132 kW). Seven-speed DCT appears to be the likeliest candidate for transmission. A Geely SX11 hybrid may also be released at a later date.
The launch date and prices are being kept unannounced so far.
