Images of Geely’s new SUV leak online

Photos showing an upcoming Geely SUV without any kind of test mule camouflage have recently emerged online. The vehicle will be sold internationally and currently goes under the provisional name of SX11, which may or may not be changed in the final version.

The Chinese crossover uses the all-new BMA architecture, but it might have some CMA components as well. The new architecture will eventually become the basis of various Geely, Volvo and Proton vehicles.

The SUV was designed by Peter Horberry, who once worked for Volvo (now bought by Geely). It comes equipped with a panoramic roof, LED lighting, Geely’s trademark radiator grille and a spoiler.

The new Geely SX11 will initially be made available with semi-automatic transmission and a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine manufacturer-rated at 177 hp (132 kW). Volvo XC40 actually uses the same engine, albeit at a slightly lower performance level. A hybrid implementation of the SX11 will be released in the future.

The Geely SX1 will reach the market in China before the end of December. Launch dates for other countries remain unknown.
