New Geely BoYue/Atlas to be based on Volvo XC40 platform

Geely will be showing the second generation of its BoYue SUV also known as Atlas. The car will switch to using the CMA architecture shared by the Volvo XC40 and the Geely Tugella.

CMA stands for Compact Modular Architecture. It is possible that the next generation will go hybrid and end up with a 1.5-liter Volvo three-cylinder turbo. Aside from the BoYue/Atlas, the Chinese automaker will be launching the Emgrand sedan in 2021. Two Lynk&Co models, a compact SUV and a hatchback called Zero, should also arrive next year, and certain current-gen models should be refreshed.

The first-gen Geely Boyue/Atlas, which you can see in the gallery and the video here, is already five years old. It went through a couple of facelifts and gave birth to the upmarket Atlas Pro version. The company has sold around a million units so far.
