Geely Haoyue debuts in Black Gold

Geely has introduced a new limited series of its Haoyue SUV in China. Dubbed the Black Gold Limited Edition, it sets itself apart from the main model through a different exterior décor, interior trim, and some luxury equipment.

AutoHome reports that prices start from 129,600 Yuan (around $20,300 USD). This is 9,000 Yuan more expensive than the next trim below it and 23,000 Yuan more than the entry-spec price.

The car boasts golden accents all around, from headlight bezels and radiator grille bars to side moldings, wheel details and Geely badges. The c-pillars bear logos of the limited edition to let everyone know it isn’t some base trim. The show car on the photos is black, and the company does not mention any other colors as being available.

The interior is also dominated by the Black Gold color scheme. There is black leather all around, while smaller details, such as air vents and the drive mode selector base, are golden.

Premium features on board include remote access to some in-car functions, a digital key fob, a power-assisted tailgate with pinch protection, plenty of airbags, and support for OTA updates. You can choose between five and seven seats for the interior.

Power comes from the standard 1.8-liter turbocharged engine rated at 184 PS (181 hp / 135 kW) and 300 Nm (221 lb-ft) of torque. The transmission is seven-speed dual-clutch automatic.

At 4.8 meters long, the Geely Haoyue is considered the marque’s largest SUV on the market. It received a facelift last fall, losing the cheap engine option with 177 PS (175 hp / 130 kW), but gaining a more up-to-date design along with revised interior.
