Jiyue 01 e-SUV goes on sale in China

Jiyue, a brand co-created between Geely and Baidu, has launched the sales of its first car – the 01, a mid-size crossover SUV running on batteries. Customers can choose between two drivetrains called Max and Max Performance and should expect to pay between 249,900 and 339,900 Yuan depending on the trim level.

The vehicle is 4,853 mm long, 1,990 mm wide and 1,611 mm tall with 3 meters of space between the axles. It has a solid panel where the radiator grille usually is and sports multi-tier, sectioned headlights. The roof is slanted and culminates in a two-piece spoiler. Wheels are available in two sizes: 19 or 21 inches.

Inside, the main display is whopping 35.6 inches large and supports 6K resolution. The infotainment hardware runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295. There are no hardware buttons in sight, but you can access most in-car functions using voice commands – even when standing outside the car.

For the driving assists, the base package is called ROBO Drive and the optional one is called ROBO Drive Max. It costs an extra 49,900 Yuan and brings along dual Orin-X chips, five millimeter-range radars, 11 cameras and a dozen of ultrasonic sensors.

In its simplest form, the car uses a single motor rated at 272 PS (268 hp / 200 kW) and 343 Nm (253 lb-ft). It accelerates from standstill to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 7.2 seconds. A 71.4-kWh traction battery gives it 550 km (342 miles) of CLTC-rated range. Throwing in an extra 45,000 Yuan nets you a bigger 100-kWh battery, 720 km (447 miles) of range, and a 6.9-second sprint time.

The dual-motor top spec is even more impressive with 544 PS (536 hp / 400 kW) heading for the wheels alongside 686 Nm (506 lb-ft) of torque. The sprint time drops to a sporty 3.8 seconds, and the bigger battery pack comes standard, although it runs dry after 660 km (410 miles). Charging from 10 to 80 percent full takes less than half an hour.
