Geely is testing yet another update to its Preface sedan, which it refreshed in mid-summer (see video). It looks like the main novelty is a large touchscreen display sitting in the middle of the dash panel.
Right now, the Preface is only obtainable with a 12.3-inch screen. The diagonal size of the new one is unknown, but could be more than 15 inches.
Geometry, a car sub-brand owned by Geely Group, mentioned using a new Huawei operating system in its infotainment units. This one could also be running on that OS.
Other visible design changes include the dashboard, the door panels and the center tunnel. The HVAC controls aren’t visible, either, so it is likely that they become virtual in the new version.
It is safe to expect the exterior to stay the same after Geely revised the design of both bumpers and the radiator grille in July. Powertrain modifications are also unlikely. The current spec – the only one available – mates a 2.0-liter turbo-four engine rated at 190 PS (187 hp / 140 kW) with a seven-speed DCT. Rumor has it that a new hybrid variant could arrive later with a 1.5-liter turbo engine and an electric motor producing over 300 PS (296 hp / 221 kW) combined.
