Genesis GV80 gets spied again, should be ready for autumn launch

The first crossover SUV by Korean manufacturer Genesis seems to be running its final pre-production tests. The small details remain under the wrap, but the general silhouette is already discernible.

Overall, the car looks identical to its concept version that debuted at the New York Motor Show two years ago. Just as expected, a number of elements have been simplified for production. This includes the lighting, the door handles and the side mirrors.

There has been no official mention of the engines the new GV80 will ship with. Supposing it receives the same assortment as the G80 sedan/saloon, this would mean a 2.0l turbo-four (245 hp / 183 kW), a naturally aspirated 3.8l six-cylinder (315 hp / 235 kW) and a 3.3l turbo (370 hp / 276 kW).

Because of its failure to meet the latest environmental standards, Genesis will not be including its flagship V8 (426 hp / 318 kW) in the lineup.
