Rumor: Genesis to call its first battery mini-SUV “GV60”

Following a series of spy photos showing a Genesis-branded electric SUV from last month, Asia Time now claims the car will be called GV60.

The newspaper cites inside sources claiming that the company has already approved this name, despite the fact that it is missing from the January patent database. Registered names include G70e / GV70e, G80e / GV80e, and G90e / GV90e.

The mystery electric SUV – which is currently still in its road testing phase – will most likely be the Korean marque’s smallest crossover vehicle on the lineup. Industry observers expect it to ship in 2021 based on the Ioniq 5’s E-GMP platform.
