A few days after unveiling its first all-electric car – the crossover-shaped GV60 – Genesis has released a video focusing on one of its more unusual features, a gear selection knob dubbed the Crystal Sphere.
When the EV is off, the Sphere serves as yet another element of ambient lighting. When you start up the motors, it turns into a floating selector that you can turn right for Drive or left for Reverse. You can push the button in the middle to engage the Parking mode and tilt the sphere up or down to switch between electronic assists. The same is accomplished by pushing the P button.
Elsewhere, the car features numerous displays that project the video from rear-facing side cameras. The displays are located on the doors to preserve the same user experience as with conventional side mirrors.
The Genesis GV60 is a coupe-like SUV destined to become the sportiest car on Genesis lineup, but its technical specifications remain to be announced.
